Is this AI training offer real?

Paste the message, email, chat or link you got. We check every link and sender against the real addresses of and known impostors, compare the pay with what the work really pays, and tell you plainly what we see.

Signs of a scam

What gives a fake offer away

Any fee, kit or deposit

Real platforms pay you. A registration fee, a training kit, equipment to buy or a deposit to unlock tasks or withdraw pay is the clearest sign of a scam.

Pay in crypto

AI training platforms pay through services such as Stripe, PayPal, Deel or Wise. Crypto top-ups and USDT salaries belong to task scams.

Only on WhatsApp or Telegram

Some platforms do text people, but applications, interviews and contracts happen on their own site. A job that lives only in a chat is a warning.

ID or bank details first

Identity checks and payout details are collected inside the platform's own sign-up, through providers like Persona or Stripe, never in a message.

Pay that is too good

We measure what each kind of work pays from the open roles we list. A rate above anything real roles advertise, for little effort, is bait.

Pressure to act now

"Only 3 slots left" and "reply within 24 hours" are there to stop you checking. A real platform's application waits for you.

Fake interviews are a scam of their own. Real AI interviews run inside the platform's own site; if you want to rehearse one, our AI interview practice runs it in each platform's format.

The addresses we check against

Where real messages come from

Each platform's own sites, and the email addresses its help pages and our sourced review name. A link or sender that is not on this list is not proof of a scam, but it is not the platform either.

Scam checker: questions

How can I tell if an AI training job offer is real?

Check where it sends you and what it asks. A real offer leads to the platform's own website, where you make an account and pass its assessment or AI interview; ID and payout details are collected there. If it asks you to pay anything, to move to WhatsApp or Telegram, or to send ID or bank details in a message, treat it as a scam. Paste it above and we check the links, the sender and the pay for you.

Is this Mercor email real?

Real Mercor email comes from @mercor.com (for example support@mercor.com), and accounts and payouts are set up only on its own site (mercor.com). Mercor says it never charges fees. Paste the email above, with the sender's address, to check it. Is Mercor legit?

Do AI training platforms charge a fee to join?

No. The platforms we track pay you for work and charge nothing to apply, interview or join. A fee, a training kit, equipment you must buy or a deposit to release your pay is the most common sign of a job scam.

Is it a scam if a recruiter contacts me on WhatsApp?

Not always: a few platforms, Turing among them, do message people on WhatsApp, and others text people who opted in. Handshake says it never uses WhatsApp. Whatever the channel, apply only on the platform's own website, and stop if anyone in a chat asks for money, crypto, ID or bank details.

What do you do with what I paste?

Nothing is stored. Your text is checked in memory, read once by an AI model to judge it, and dropped; we only count how many checks end in each verdict. Our privacy policy says so.

Where do I report a fake recruiter?

Report it to the platform it pretends to be, through that platform's own site, and to the account or app where it reached you. In the US you can also report it to the FTC at ReportFraud.ftc.gov.
