Applying to RemoExperts, step by step
Researched October 2026Create an account at portal.rex.zone with your education details, take the 15 to 20 minute Entry Exam (one attempt, no retake), pass a Persona ID check, then apply to posts under Open Opportunities, pass any role exam and accept a project invitation; approved hours are paid, typically monthly.
Who can join
- A bachelor's degree: REX requires one from every contributor, and advanced projects may ask for more expertise or certifications. Its FAQ also says students may apply if they meet the legal working age where they live.
- Basic English reading, because all instructions and guidelines are in English.
- A valid, unexpired government ID and a selfie for Persona identity verification, which also checks that you are in an eligible region.
- Living somewhere REX operates: its privacy policy says registration is not available in all regions, you may only work from your verified Primary Location, and some projects are limited to certain countries or states.
- No VPN and no AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Grammarly and the like) for tasks: either can get you removed, and AI use means immediate disqualification. Only one account per person.
- Whatever a post demands: on 10 October 2026 the egocentric video posts required your own Insta360 X5 camera, and the English conversation study required a laptop or desktop, headphones and a quiet private room.
Step by step
- 1
Create your account
Go to portal.rex.zone (the Log in link on rex.zone leads there) and create a REX account by completing all the required information, including your education. One account per person: duplicates are removed permanently.
- 2
- 3
Verify your identity with Persona
Persona checks that you are a real person in an eligible region. Most failures are a blurry photo or an expired ID: retake the photos in good light or upload a valid ID.
- 4
- 5
Pass any role-specific exam
Specialized projects add their own position exams. Some exams and projects also require REX's KeepAlive browser extension and location permission to verify your work environment.
- 6
Accept a project invitation
Qualified people may receive project invitations (check spam and your dashboard notifications). Accepting is optional, and projects run from one-week pilots to multi-month programs.
- 7
Work through the project's point of contact
Each project is managed by REX project managers; send project questions to its Point of Contact, not general support. Accuracy decides how much work you get, and poor accuracy or long inactivity leads to removal.
- 8
Get paid for approved hours
Set up Stripe, Payoneer or Wise. You are paid for completed and approved hours at each project's own rate, typically monthly, though some projects pay on shorter cycles.
REX Entry Exam, then position-specific exams
Every applicant takes one general Entry Exam before applying to roles, then passes exams set for specific positions. REX also screens through identity verification and performance checks after onboarding, and says only qualified contributors are allocated to projects.
Format
Entry Exam: about 15 to 20 minutes, one attempt, no retake. Reviewers describe about 25 questions scored as a percentage, and REX told one that the exam is optimized for desktop. Position exams vary by project; some require the KeepAlive extension and location permission.
How to prepare
- Use a desktop or laptop with a stable connection: several reviewers lost the exam to a question that never loaded, and REX says the assessment is optimized for desktop.
- Read every question carefully and take your time: there is no second attempt and no appeal.
- Do not use AI tools, Grammarly or a VPN at any point; REX treats AI use as immediate disqualification.
- Before the ID check, make the name on your profile match your ID in the same order, and have a valid, unexpired ID and good light for the photos.
- Have proof of your degree ready: REX treats a verified bachelor's degree as a baseline requirement.
Why people get rejected
- Failing the one-attempt Entry Exam: REX publishes no pass mark, and reviewers report failing with 85.5% and 96%.
- A Persona rejection over a blurry or expired ID, or a profile name in a different order from the ID.
- No verified bachelor's degree: one reviewer's associate degree was not accepted.
- Living in a region the project or the platform does not cover.
- Not a rejection: many verified people wait months because a project is full, paused or closed to their region.
REX gives no timeline. The Entry Exam takes 15 to 20 minutes, but reviewers describe ID checks running from a week to more than a month and applications pending from February to May 2026; REX replied that pending applications are normal because work depends on skill area, region and exam results.
You are paid for completed and approved hours at each project's own rate, typically monthly (some projects use shorter cycles), through Stripe, Payoneer or Wise. Rates depend on project complexity, skill level, region and accuracy, and many posts say the rate is adjusted by country of residence.
Tips to get accepted
- Read a post's country list and rate before applying. On 10 October 2026, 29 of the 37 posts were open to all countries and 23 said pay is adjusted by country of residence, without saying by how much.
- Ignore the 'Salary Min' and 'Salary Max' on rex.zone/jobs pages: they are search landing pages, and the India page shows the same US annual salary as the US page. Real openings are under Open Opportunities in the portal.
- If Persona rejects you, check the name order first: REX told several Trustpilot reviewers that a name-order mismatch caused their rejection.
- Make sure your payout account is set and correct before your first month ends: a former contractor says transfers came by the 5th for work up to the 25th, and some of his went to the wrong account.
- Do not work from another country without permission: REX assigns a Primary Location after verification, pauses accounts that work elsewhere, and offers a Travel Request for temporary work abroad.
- For account, privacy or verification problems write to recruitment@rex.zone, which REX names in its replies; project questions go to your project's Point of Contact.
What isn't public
- REX publishes no rate card on its website. On 10 October 2026 the 37 posts in its portal ranged from $20 an hour (an English conversation recording study) to $150 an hour (engineering, medical and finance experts).
- The 1,131 pages under rex.zone/jobs are search landing pages, not openings: every one we sampled showed the same date (25-02-2026), country (US) and full-time salary ($63,360 to $126,720 a year), and links to the portal login.
- REX says it welcomes talent globally, but its privacy policy says registration is not available in all regions, and it publishes no list of supported countries.
- REX names no founders, office address or clients. Some Trustpilot reviewers and one former contractor say REX is Abaka (Abaka AI); neither company confirms it.
- REX publishes no pass mark for the Entry Exam and no referral reward amount.
- The FAQ says every contributor needs a bachelor's degree but also says students can apply; it does not explain how the two fit.
- Independent feedback is thin: one Trustpilot profile with 95 reviews, many five-star ones posted in bursts in July 2026 (some invited), and two third-party reviews. We found no Reddit thread we could cite.

Applying to RemoExperts: questions
Can I retake the REX Entry Exam?
No. REX does not allow Entry Exam retakes, so take your time and complete it carefully the first time.
How much does REX pay?
Each project sets its own rate. On 10 October 2026 the 37 posts in the REX portal ranged from $20 to $150 an hour: most expert posts were $50 to $150, generalist AI trainer $30 to $65, and egocentric video collection $40 to $120 depending on country.
When and how does REX pay?
For completed and approved hours, typically monthly (some projects pay on shorter cycles), through Stripe, Payoneer or Wise.
Are the jobs on rex.zone/jobs real openings?
No. They are templated search pages that all lead to the portal login, and the ones we sampled share one date, country and salary. REX's real openings are listed inside the portal under Open Opportunities, open to verified users only.
Is REX the same company as Abaka AI?
Not confirmed. REX's privacy policy names Remoexperts Inc. as the operator. Some reviewers on REX's Trustpilot page call it Abaka, and a former contractor writes that Abaka is the company behind REX, but neither REX nor Abaka AI says so.
Can I use ChatGPT, Grammarly or a VPN on REX?
No. AI assistance is strictly prohibited and leads to immediate disqualification, and VPNs are not allowed; both are listed reasons for removal from a project.
Which countries can join REX?
REX says it welcomes talent globally unless a project is restricted, but its privacy policy says registration is not available in all regions. Some posts list specific countries, such as its egocentric video posts for Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, the UK, Canada and South Africa.
Why have I not been given tasks on REX?
REX lists the reasons: the project is full, you have not passed the required exams or ID check, your region is restricted for that project, tasks are paused, or accuracy checks are pending.
Does REX track my work?
Yes. Its privacy policy lists time-tracking data from partners such as Hubstaff, a KeepAlive browser extension for some exams and projects, and location and device signals in the portal and app that feed an automated risk rating.
How long does it take to hear back from RemoExperts?
REX gives no timeline. The Entry Exam takes 15 to 20 minutes, but reviewers describe ID checks running from a week to more than a month and applications pending from February to May 2026; REX replied that pending applications are normal because work depends on skill area, region and exam results.
Does RemoExperts have an assessment?
Yes: REX Entry Exam, then position-specific exams. Every applicant takes one general Entry Exam before applying to roles, then passes exams set for specific positions. REX also screens through identity verification and performance checks after onboarding, and says only qualified contributors are allocated to projects.
